Peter is listed first, so we can assume that the lists were compiled, according to priority. If so, this confirms what history also tells us, that Simon and Jude were the least well known of the apostles.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve always celebrated this feast as a celebration of the millions of unknown and hidden saints. Think of all those humble folks you\u2019ve known who have quietly served God and served others without ever seeking credit, never seeking acclaim, money, or even thanks. The canonized saints are merely the tip of the iceberg. Millions more have become like Christ in total obscurity\u2013suffering and serving in silence.<\/div>\n
