I have a very persistent focus.<\/p>\n

People have told me that focus is one of my strengths. When I identify something as important, I can continue to pay attention to it over a long period of time. I can listen to someone tell me their story and stay in touch with their larger themes.<\/p>\n

Focus helps me be resilient, persevering toward a goal until I achieve it. Once I have a target lined up in my viewfinder, it takes something big to get me to change my focus.<\/p>\n

Maintaining a strong focus is not usually that difficult for me. My challenge is more often finding the object of my focus in the first place.<\/p>\n

I could really use an automatic focus like the cameras on my iPhone and iPad. Those little boxes that show you the faces or other features are fantastic!<\/p>\n

Persistence is one reason that finding my focus is a challenge for me. I often stick with one focus until I have a sense of completion. New ideas or suggestions can feel like distractions. I stay on track, regardless of opportunities to change my focus.<\/p>\n

Focus also helps me gain momentum. I overcome inertia and resistance by concentrating on where I want to go and how to get there. Focus gives me clarity and keeps me on track. The whole process of generating new ideas and refining the approach can feel pretty vague and unnecessary to me. Why not just start moving and make adjustments along the way?<\/p>\n

Once I get things into focus, it is usually better for me not to make too many adjustments. I am more likely to lose my focus altogether than to make it any sharper.<\/p>\n
