They\u2019re CHICKENS, you dolt. Apart from you, they\u2019re the most stupid creatures on this planet. They don\u2019t plot, they don\u2019t scheme, and they are NOT organized.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Today\u2019s suggestion is a bit of an oddity for a cantankerous cinematic curmudgeon like me. One of those rare homage films that I actually enjoy as much as \u2014 maybe even a teeny-tiny bit more \u2014 than the original(s) to which it is paying such loving homage.<\/p>\n

Chicken Run<\/a><\/em>, the\u00a0Great Escape<\/a><\/em>-themed gem from stop-motion masters Nick Park<\/a> and Peter Lord<\/a> and the good folks at Aardman Animation<\/a>, is streaming on NETFLIX INSTANT<\/a><\/strong>. And can be reasonably rented from\u00a0AMAZON INSTANT($)<\/a><\/strong>, SONY ENTERTAINMENT($)<\/a><\/strong>, and VUDU($)<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

While the chickens on evil Mrs. Tweedy\u2019s farm dream of a better life, a clever hen named Ginger is hatching plans to fly the coop \u2013 for good! Every escape attempt goes fowl until Rocky, a smooth-talking Rooster, crash-lands into the coop. With teamwork, determination and little bit o\u2019cluck, the fearless flock plots one last daring attempt in a spectacular bid for freedom.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
