So, this is pretty much my life in a nutshell \u2014 with the emphasis on \u201cnuts:\u201d<\/p>\n

Start listening<\/a>\u00a0to the soundtrack<\/a> for Terrance Malick\u2019s The Thin Red Line<\/em><\/a>.<\/li>\n
Think: \u201cWow. That sounds<\/a> sort of Inception<\/em><\/a>-y.\u201d<\/li>\n
Head out onto the InterWebs and find this \u2014 a stinging reminder that I\u2019m not even remotely original. (But then, neither is Hans Zimmer.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/iframe>\nPretty seamless, no? Probably because they\u2019re (essentially) the same. Which is fine with me, actually. Classical music afficionados tend to be more accepting of such \u201cborrowing,\u201d\u00a0because it\u2019s pretty much a <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/4_pbxdfwi7Y\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">way of life in the classical world<\/a>. Also, can Zimmer really be stealing from himself? Is that even possible?<\/p>\nAlso, this whole thing was a bit unsettling. It\u2019s been quite a while since I saw Inception<\/em> (once), and significantly\u00a0longer since I saw The Thin Red Line<\/em> (also once). But it\u2019s also the kind of thing that happens to me all the time. My \u201cbrain\u201d likes to do stuff on its own, apparently.
