For those among us who have always wondered what will\u00a0happen to all the cute Corgis<\/a> when the Apocalypse<\/a> comes along, here\u2019s John Cody Kim\u2019s<\/a> \u201cSteadfast Stanley\u201d<\/a> with the answer to our burning<\/a>\u00a0question:<\/p>\n

Stanley the Pembroke Welsh Corgi is left behind in the outbreak of an apocalypse. All he wants to do is get back to his owner\u2026<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/iframe>\nThe dog reminded me of \u00a0<\/span><a class=\"ext-link decorated-link\" style=\"color: #0066cc;\" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/maddiesharafianportfolio.blogspot.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-wpel-target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\">Madeline Sharafian\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/65107797\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">\u201cOmelette\u201d<\/a> short, which I <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/summathissummathat\/2014\/04\/summa-shorts-omelette\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\">posted a few months back<\/a>. Sure, the setting was a bit less endearing\/a bit more zombified. But it could practically have been the same dog. Perhaps not a huge shock, given their shared lineage. Both Sharafian and Kim are students at CalArts Animation.<\/p>\nIn fact, since it\u2019s almost Thanksgiving and I\u2019m in a giving mood, here\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/channels\/calartscharanimfilms2014\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">an official Vimeo channel<\/a> featuring all the CalArts Animation student films from 2014.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\nThe films featured in this channel are made by BFA1 through BFA4 students in the Character Animation Program at CalArts (School of Film\/Video), in 2014. Each student makes his or her own film, individually.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\nI especially enjoyed\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/93208319\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">\u201cNocturne,\u201d<\/a>\u00a0which sort-of-reminded me of the <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/36277436\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">\u201cFirebird\u201d sequence<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0120910\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Fantasia 2000<\/a><\/em>. And <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/86362805\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">\u201cAcorn\u201d<\/a>\u00a0caught my attention, as well. (And yes, it caught my attention before<\/em> I realized it was the 3rd-Year Film from the previously-mentioned Sharafian, thank you very much.
