There are few things as tense (and genuinely unpleasant) as watching a stomach bug rampage through one\u2019s family. I\u2019m sure we\u2019ve all been there, watching that first child and wondering if their sickness just might<\/em> turn out to be a one-off incident rather than a \u201cCanary In The\u00a0Coal Mine\u201d moment. I myself tend to fall firmly into the \u201cLet\u2019s Come Up With Lots of Reasons For Why This Particular Kid\u2019s Throwing Up That Don\u2019t Require Me To Admit That Anyone Else Will Be Sick Ever And Oops! There Goes Another But I\u2019m Still Pretty Sure It\u2019s Not A Trend\u201d camp, but this particular bout was too virulent (and quick-moving) for\u00a0me to come\u00a0up with anything (even momentarily) reassuring in an effort to forestall the inevitable realization.<\/p>\n

All of which means that it was a bit of a long weekend. And that this (HD and Full-Screen, please) short\u00a0is just what I need right now.<\/p>\n

Zealand\u2019s West Coast<\/a> is proud to launch \u2018The World\u2019s Most Relaxing Film\u2019.<\/p>\n

The film, which lasts about seven minutes, is filmed in the forests, on the heaths, fields and along the beaches on the west coast of Zealand around Slagelse, Kalundborg and Sor\u00f8.<\/p>\n

It is based on a series of interviews and recommendations from experts in the areas of stress, music therapy and mindfulness.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\nhttps:\/\/youtu.be\/r3fE6FQT82s<\/a>\n

Well, that really is relaxing. Sort of like Soarin\u2019 Over California<\/a>, except calmer. And wow, the\u00a0West Coast of Zealand (in Denmark) is gorgeous.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not sure I would have said that\u00a0it was the most relaxing thing I\u2019ve ever seen, but its creators wanted something a bit more quantifiable<\/a> than mere impressions.<\/p>\n

The experiment worked as we hoped. After having watched the 7 minutes long, relaxing film the guests\u2019 pulse had dropped by an average of 10 %, some even by as much as 25 %. Everyone asked reported that he or she felt more relaxed after having seen what we now proudly call the world\u2019s most relaxing film.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

So I guess it is the most relaxing thing I\u2019ve ever seen. Because\u00a0SCIENCE<\/a>, after all.\u00a0(In fairness, it was definitely relaxing. And that\u2019s what I wanted, right?)<\/p>\n

Also, I think I missed my calling. I should totally have been a Mindfulness Expert.<\/p>\n
