Today\u2019s short comes from the visual and story-telling \u00a0geniuses<\/a> at\u00a0Aardman Animations<\/a>,\u00a0whose virtues I\u2019ve been extolling<\/a> since some of my earliest days on the InterWebs<\/a>, and who\u00a0deserve pretty much every nice thing<\/a> anyone has ever said about them. (Interestingly, their shorts tend to\u00a0be a tiny bit meaner than their features. That\u2019s\u00a0not a criticism, though. Just an observation.)<\/p>\n \u201cA plucky, pioneering pre-historic fish, has a ground-breaking plan to improve his life\u201d<\/p>\n Ray\u2019s Big Idea is a stunning three minute animated short film, about a fed-up fish\u2019s desire to escape his overcrowded primordial ocean and be the first fish to walk on the land.\u00a0Risking life and limb, he embarks on a treacherous journey out of the monochromatic watery deep, up into the glorious Technicolor of an undiscovered prehistoric world.\u00a0Evolving along the way, he encounters jeopardy, euphoria, evolution, a mischievous fly, the fickleness of fame and legs.\u00a0Even if the grass isn\u2019t necessarily greener on the other side, Ray\u2019s spirit and enthusiasm cannot be diminished!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n
