This is amazing. \u2026and sort of creepy, especially if you watch as many sci-fi shows as I do. (Somewhere out there, Roland Emmerich<\/a> is screaming \u201cI told you so!\u201d<\/a> at the top of his lungs<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

On a day in which spring made its return to Minnesota with a vengeance, Nadalie Thomas caught Old Man Winter making his last stand with an ice-shattering spectacle known to some as \u201cchandeliering.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meteorologist Jerrid Sebesta was so impressed at the unusual occurrence that he showed Nadalie\u2019s video on his weathercast at both 5 and 10 p.m. Jerrid says the remaining ice is very brittle due to the sun and warm temps, and at some point it reaches the state where ice first crystalizes.<\/p>\n

The ice then splinters, creating a racket in the process.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

You might have to sit through an ad or two, but don\u2019t worry. It\u2019s worth it.
\n<\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n

Yet another tick on the \u201cNo, wonders will never<\/em> cease. Why do you ask?<\/a>\u201d side of the ledger. The splintering<\/a> would be amazing to experience, I\u2019m sure, but it\u2019s not the sound that makes this story pop; it\u2019s the \u201cgrowing.\u201d<\/a> \u00a0Gives me the chills.<\/p>\n
