I have made no secret of the fact that I have been endlessly disappointed with the evangelical community and a host of evangelical \u201cleaders,\u201d in this age of Trump. In fact, my greatest objections to Trump are based on his character, as I feel he is neither a moral, nor a just man, and as such, cannot be a moral or a just leader.<\/p>\n
The fact that he has proven to be utterly incompetent, with no grasp on even the most basic tenets of governance is only overshadowed by the likewise fact that Congress does not have the spine to hold him accountable.<\/p>\n
This is usually where someone starts screaming at me about being a liberal. This is where I also point out that I\u2019ve never voted for a liberal, did not want Hillary Clinton to win in 2016, and have fought for conservative causes \u2013 that\u2019s things like pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, states rights, religious liberties, and free trade, for all you Trumpers<\/em> \u2013 for my entire adult life.<\/p>\n I am, however, a Christian before anything else, and character does matter. Christians in this nation are saying one thing in church on Sunday, then going out in the world from Monday to Saturday and acting like there\u2019s nothing after this world.<\/p>\n You\u2019d better stop living worldly minded and start getting Kingdom-focused!<\/p>\n So, yes, I\u2019m all for being civic minded and voting, but you\u2019d better vote your faith, act like you believe what that Bible says about character and morals in leadership, as well as yoking yourself with non-believers. That includes with your vote!<\/p>\n I also get being panicked and voting for a man like Donald Trump in 2016 because you felt you had no choice. That doesn\u2019t mean you\u2019re beholden to defend every hateful or adulterous thing he does.<\/p>\n With all that in mind, I find myself being disgusted, once again, by someone who I once thought was such an important voice to this dark world.<\/p>\n How can you combat the darkness while also defending it?<\/p>\n I\u2019m referring to Pastor Franklin Graham\u2019s latest attempts to silence criticism of Donald Trump\u2019s unsavory behavior.<\/p>\n This would be the same Franklin Graham who voiced righteous indignation (deservedly, by the way) over Bill Clinton\u2019s disgusting, misogynistic behavior.<\/p>\n When it comes to Donald Trump\u2019s sinful behavior, however, it is apparently protected by God.<\/a><\/p>\n We can infer from Graham\u2019s latest tweets, in reference to the audio tape released that reveals Trump and his then-attorney, Michael Cohen, discussing the details of a payoff of another mistress, that it isn\u2019t Trump that\u2019s in trouble.<\/p>\n It\u2019s anybody that dare breath a word about it.<\/p>\n \u201cEveryone in the media is talking about the just-released tape & what the President said or didn\u2019t say, what he meant or didn\u2019t mean,\u201d Graham tweeted. \u201cIt is a good moment to point out that everyone should realize that every word that is spoken or thought is recorded by God.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Yes. Trump will have to answer for a lot, won\u2019t he?<\/p>\n \u201cHere\u2019s a sober warning from God\u2019s Word, \u2018What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, & what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs\u2019 (Luke 12:3),\u201d Graham tweeted.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n I\u2019m beginning to think that maybe this message was to Trump, after all. I mean, that\u2019s just what happened with this audio, isn\u2019t it?
