If you\u2019re a part of the alt-right, I don\u2019t want there to be any misunderstandings. I called you an infestation. We can go with \u201cinfection,\u201d if you prefer. Either way, the alt-right isn\u2019t saving the Republican party. They\u2019re destroying it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/399783-poll-some-republicans-approve-of-russias-help-in-elections\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" class=\" decorated-link\">A new poll<\/a> out on Tuesday shows that there are actually those within the party who are absolutely fine with a hostile foreign power interfering in a United States election, if the results are what they want.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s not only un-American and unpatriotic, it\u2019s on a level of dumb so vast, I don\u2019t think there\u2019s a clear way to measure it.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/node\/add\/article\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Yahoo Finance\/SurveyMonkey poll<\/a>\u00a0released Tuesday finds that 11\u00a0percent\u00a0of Republican or GOP-leaning Americans surveyed said it is \u201cappropriate\u201d for\u00a0Russia\u00a0to try to help Republicans, while 29 percent said it\u2019s \u201cnot appropriate, but wouldn\u2019t be a big deal.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It is not appropriate. If they do it, it\u2019s a big deal.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s only forty percent of Republicans with the absolute wrong idea about allowing Russians to meddle in our national affairs.<\/p>\n<p>Let me give the acceptable percentage of Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Independents, or anybody else being \u201cok\u201d with Russians meddling in any of our elections: ZERO.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of Democrats, only 14 percent feel it would be appropriate, or at least, not a big deal if Russians meddled on their behalf. A hefty 86 percent felt that not only would it be inappropriate, but it would be a big, bad deal.<\/p>\n<p>Now, given that it is the Republicans in control and there seems to be a \u201cRussia problem\u201d in their ranks, Democrats could just be putting up a noble front. Would they be as outraged if Russian interference had favored their side?<\/p>\n<p>We can\u2019t really know.<\/p>\n<p>What we do know is that there is evidence to suggest that they wanted Donald Trump to win. They promoted his campaign through Russian \u201cbots,\u201d across social media.<\/p>\n<p>If all the information and all the events surrounding the 2016 election didn\u2019t convince you, the Helsinki summit should have put any lingering doubts to rest.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>At a press conference in Helsinki earlier this month, Russian President Vladimir Putin said\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/397200-putin-says-he-wanted-trump-to-beat-clinton\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">he wanted Trump to win<\/a>\u00a0the 2016 election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, I did, because he was the one who wanted to normalize relations with Russia,\u201d Putin said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Well, I guess Putin would know, wouldn\u2019t he?<\/p>\n<p>The new fear is that they\u2019re at it again, with some evidence being present to suggest they\u2019re gearing up to create chaos before the November midterm election.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Facebook on Tuesday\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/thehill.com\/policy\/technology\/399691-facebook-has-identified-new-political-influence-campaign-report\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">also revealed<\/a>\u00a0a new coordinated disinformation campaign on its platform ahead of the fall elections, saying it removed more than two dozen accounts across Facebook and Instagram involved in \u201cinauthentic behavior.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Russia is not our friend. If they\u2019re meddling, it\u2019s not for our good, and this isn\u2019t a partisan issue. It\u2019s an American issue.<\/p>\n<p>There were 2,509 respondents to this particular survey.
