Last year, GOP strategist Rick Wilson released an amazing book titled, \u201cEverything Trump Touches Dies.\u201d You may have seen the hashtag #ETTD across social media.<\/p>\n
For the past several years, we\u2019ve seen the outcome for those who entrench themselves too deeply into the operations of and in service to Donald Trump.<\/p>\n
From Carter Page to Michael Cohen, and everyone in between, we\u2019ve seen how associating with this abominable mistake of a presidency can result in ruin.<\/p>\n
Nobody gets out unscathed.<\/p>\n
So let\u2019s talk about the sycophants and professional toadies in the Trump loving media. None are more slavish and pathetic than American Pravda\u2019s Sean Hannity.<\/p>\n
Hannity has ridden the Trump train from early on, and has become a favorite of the Branch Trumpidian cult, based on his \u201chardball\u201d exclusives with the president, asking such visceral, deep-diving questions as:<\/p>\n
\u201cIs it true you\u2019re the greatest president this nation has ever seen?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cHow do you manage to be so amazing, at everything you do?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYou really smell nice, don\u2019t you?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI love you.\u201d<\/p>\n
If you were able to control your gag reflex for a bit, on Thursday night you may have witnessed another such exclusive, as Hannity brought on President Trump to allow him time to rebut the testimony of his former attorney and fixer, Michael Cohen.<\/p>\n
Cohen appeared before Congress on Wednesday. That was the second day out of three interviews, with the third being Thursday, behind closed doors.<\/p>\n
Cohen\u2019s appearance was marked by the agenda of the Democrats, as well as the Republicans who apparently had one goal: Attack.<\/p>\n
Between the two, there were some scraps of actual testimony to be gleaned.<\/p>\n
One point that emerged was whether Cohen\u2019s current anti-Trump stance has to do with the fact that he wasn\u2019t offered a position with the Trump administration.<\/p>\n
Cohen insisted he wasn\u2019t looking for a position with the administration, even if he\u2019d spent the last decade of his life acting as Trump\u2019s doormat.<\/p>\n
Cohen is preparing to begin his 3 year prison sentence in May, on multiple charges, including campaign finance law violations, based on the hush money payoffs of two of Trump\u2019s mistresses, porn star Stormy Daniels, and Playboy model, Karen McDougal.<\/p>\n
The payoffs happened a month before the 2016 election.<\/p>\n
Cohen brought the canceled checks, one signed by Trump, that he says were reimbursement for paying off the women.<\/p>\n
On the Thursday night Hannity interview, the host sat and commiserated with his idol about just how awful and disloyal Cohen was.<\/p>\n
He also sought to comfort the president by letting him know he had his back.<\/p>\n
The unusual point they chose to push was that Cohen, a man with a wife and children, decided to pay what amounted to around $300,000 to these women completely on his own, with no direction from his client, Trump.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cI can tell you personally, he said to me at least a dozen times that he made the decision on the payments and he didn\u2019t tell you,\u201d Hannity said.<\/p>\n Trump agreed with Hannity that Cohen had made that decision independently.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n At least a dozen times?<\/p>\n I\u2019m trying to figure how that works. Did Cohen kick off every meeting with Hannity with, \u201cI paid off Trump\u2019s mistresses on my own\u201d?<\/p>\n We do know Hannity was a client of Cohen\u2019s (client #3), although we don\u2019t know the extent of work Cohen did for him.<\/p>\n We also know that shortly after Cohen rolled on President Trump, Hannity inexplicably deleted all his old tweets from social media, regarding Cohen \u2013 a man he had on his show multiple times, so that they could both sing the praises of their liege.<\/p>\n It would seem, however, that by inserting himself into this particular case, he has caught the notice of members of Congress, some of whom still want to get to the bottom of Donald Trump\u2019s multiple ethical entanglements.<\/p>\n One member of the House Judiciary Committee, Representative David Cicilline (D-R.I.) saw the interview, and took great interest in what amounted to Hannity making himself out to be a witness.<\/p>\n \u201cSean Hannity is now volunteering himself as a witness,\u201d Cicilline, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, tweeted. \u201cI look forward to his testimony.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n So will they call Hannity to testify before Congress?<\/p>\n Sean Hannity is now volunteering himself as a witness.
