Yes, it sure feels like it, and don\u2019t tell the cats, but we\u2019re off soon to Minnesota!<\/p>\n<p>Last year was my first <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paganicon.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Paganicon<\/a>, and I\u2019m really excited to be returning again \u2013 with bonus points on top because this year I was invited to be one of the Guests of Honor. \u00a0And our band is playing the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paganicon.org\/equinox-ball\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Equinox Ball!\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0It\u2019s an excellent, friendly, mid-size indoor Pagan convention in Minneapolis \u2013 and I highly recommend it!<\/p>\n<p>I feel especially honored since usually it takes having some books published before getting one of those invites! And while I do have<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Witchs-Cauldron-Magick-Ritual-Vessels\/dp\/0738750395\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\"> a book\u00a0coming out in May<\/a> and two more in the works, part of my brain went \u201cOMG! really?\u201d and the rest went: \u201cHey Witch, well you <em>have<\/em> been doing this for 20 years, are an accomplished artist, dancer, performer, writer, and give workshops that people apparently love.\u201d \u00a0(I\u2019m a Gemini, I\u2019m quite prone to having debates in my head.)<\/p>\n<p>In addition to having art in the art show, and vending in the vendor room (Owlkeyme Arts, next to Magus Books, end spot near the door according to the map), this is where you\u2019ll finding me doing stuff if you\u2019re attending Paganicon!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_440\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-440\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-440\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.patheos.com\/blogs\/sites\/654\/2017\/03\/paganicon-2016-photo-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"paganicon - 2016 photo\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-440\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>I made the paper last year \u2013 it looks like I was leading a ritual, but I just talk a lot with my hands\u2026<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Friday:<\/strong><br>\n3:30-5pm: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/paganicon2017.sched.com\/event\/8rip\/the-authentic-witch-crafting-a-working-tradition\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Authentic Witch: Crafting A Working Tradition<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0What does it mean to be an authentic Witch? Who or what sets the bar for authenticity? How can it define or impede your path? In this workshop, we\u2019ll look at key elements for crafting an effective practice that works for you, from the perspective of the Modern Traditional Witch.<\/p>\n<p>I may be making some special surprise appearances later that evening\u2026.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday:\u00a0<\/strong><br>\n11:30am: <strong>Dogwood &amp; Johnstone<\/strong> \u2013 Join the band for a delightful acoustic set \u2013 they rock hardcore with the full band, but are just as entertaining in the intimate acoustic experience.<\/p>\n<p>1:00-2:30pm: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/paganicon2017.sched.com\/event\/8rnN\/stirring-the-cauldron-a-ritual-exploration-of-movement\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Stirring The Cauldron: A Ritual Exploration of Movement<\/a><\/strong> \u2013\u00a0Movement is a key element to connecting the mind, body, and spirit. The more we can shift from static to active practice, the more embodied our magick and other metaphysical experiences become. In this ritual-meets-workshop, we\u2019ll focus on how to incorporate dance elements into your practice regardless of age, ability, experience, or tradition, using the metaphorical cauldron as our guide<\/p>\n<p>7:30-1pm: <a href=\"https:\/\/paganicon2017.sched.com\/event\/9DRT\/equinox-ball-feat-nathaniel-johnstone-band\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\"><strong>Equinox Ball<\/strong> <\/a>\u2013 Anaar and I will kick off the evening with a fully improvised, created in the moment ritual dance with live music. \u00a0Then get your own dance on all evening long!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday:<\/strong><br>\n11:15am: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/paganicon2017.sched.com\/event\/8ro1\/the-journey-to-our-own-personal-underworld\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Journey to Our Own Personal Underworld (Panel Discussion)<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 Shadow work is crucial as individuals, as a community, and as a society. Let\u2019s dig through some of our more occulted aspects to see what treasures we find. Join us for a lively discussion, and bring your own perceptions and questions to share.<\/p>\n<p>1-2:30pm: <a href=\"https:\/\/paganicon2017.sched.com\/event\/8roB\/the-witches-art\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\"><strong>The Witch\u2019s Art<\/strong> <\/a>\u2013\u00a0Artist, designer, and author Laura Tempest Zakroff will share with you the processes behind the creation of her art and the items she designs, and where it merges with magick, spellcraft, and devotional work.
