Today (as in when I\u2019m writing this, who knows when you\u2019re reading it), is May 8th. \u00a0That means my first book, \u201cThe Witch\u2019s Cauldron: The Craft, Lore, and Magick of Ritual Vessels\u201d<\/em> is now OFFICIALLY** released.<\/p>\n

**really officially, as opposed to my title nominees for today\u2019s acknowledgment.
\n<\/strong>
\n<\/em>I\u2019m sorry it\u2019s been quiet here during the past week. \u00a0I had company (which meant cleaning house), a solo show to hang (which meant finishing art and a lot of prep), two book signings\/talks (which means social panic) and a pop-up market (preparing to vend with stuff I needed besides what was required for everything else.) \u00a0I have had plenty of blog posts brimming, but none that I could dedicate enough time to. \u00a0So watch for those coming soon.<\/p>\n

But wow folks! \u00a0It\u2019s official \u2013 my first book is out there, and my second book is going into the editing and layout phase!<\/p>\n

The first book signing and talk was in conjunction with my solo show opening at The Cunning Crow Apothecary<\/a>. \u00a0OMG, it was packed all evening, despite folks coming\/going in shifts. \u00a0The talk went fairly well (with lots of good questions and silliness!). \u00a0I had to pinch myself to keep in mind that not all book signings will be as well-attended and awesome as that. \u00a0And well, Sunday I was over at Edge of the Circle, where we had a smaller turnout due to it being a ridiculously gorgeous day in Seattle \u2013 which I expected. But still, people came and listened to me ramble about cauldrons and writing books.<\/p>\n

Not sure if I quite have the hang of it yet \u2013 perhaps by the end of the Pacific Coast Tour<\/a>, I\u2019ll have it down \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

But really, about tending to those cauldrons\u2026<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Spring is in full swing here in the Pacific Northwest, with whispers of summer not far behind. \u00a0It\u2019s rather inspiring! So there\u2019s several ways you can \u201ctend to your cauldron.\u201d<\/p>\n

1 \u2013 Time to clean! \u00a0<\/strong>Cleaning and cleansing are important elements of Witchcraft. \u00a0What\u2019s your working space like? Is it clean? \u00a0What\u2019s the condition of your tools? Have you used them recently, did you clean and cleanse them properly, and then put them away? \u00a0Or are they out gathering dust and rust? \u00a0If you\u2019re going to put effort into any working \u2013 spellcraft or ritual, taking care of your tools is part of the process. \u00a0Treat them with care and respect, and it will definitely aid in your endeavors.<\/p>\n

2\u00a0\u2013 Time to prepare!<\/strong>\u00a0How are you feeling emotionally and mentally as the seasons shift? \u00a0Have you really checked in with yourself lately. \u00a0What\u2019s the state of your spiritual cauldrons? I wrote an article for Llewellyn that accompanies the book release about tending to your spiritual cauldrons<\/a>\u00a0that can help you out with learning about and caring for your spiritual cauldrons. \u00a0(There\u2019s a guided meditation as well in the book).<\/p>\n

3 \u2013 Time to make!<\/strong> Cauldrons are for making, brewing, and transforming. \u00a0What do you need to set into motion? \u00a0What are you planning on brewing up? \u00a0It\u2019s an excellent time to get down to manifesting things both physically and metaphysically. Do you have all of your materials and ingredients ready? \u00a0If not, what\u2019s holding you back?<\/p>\n

But what\u2019s this about a book?
\n<\/strong><\/em>The most common question I\u2019m getting is from folks asking, \u201cI won\u2019t be able to make a book signing \u2013 how do I get a signed copy?\u201d or \u201cI want to get a copy now, then have you sign it later, what\u2019s the best way to purchase?\u201d<\/p>\n

Great news! <\/strong><\/em>You can buy a signed book directly from me!<\/a> (I know a guy\u2026) But only for a limited time, as I\u2019ll be taking the buttons down while I\u2019m on the road. \u00a0The next best option is to purchase a copy from your local brick and mortar book store\/occult\/witchy shop. \u00a0It may cost a couple dollars more than amazon, but you\u2019re directly supporting your local community \u2013 which is DEFINITELY worth that spare change. \u00a0Plus it may even smell better \ud83d\ude42 (Book + herbs\/incense = win!) \u00a0But if that\u2019s not an option, then consider direct from the publisher<\/a>, then lastly, amazon \u2013 which if you\u2019re into kindle editions, then I believe that\u2019s the primary way to go anyway.<\/p>\n
