So, to no one\u2019s surprise, it looks like the US Government is going into the car business<\/a>, something our founders certainly never intended.<\/p>\n

I keep watching Obama and wondering if he is trying to lead America to further greatness, or to simply bring her to heel?<\/p>\n

There is an absolute disconnect between what Obama says, and what he does. In his first 100 days he said he had \u201cno interest\u201d in running<\/a> the banking and auto industries in this country, even as his hand crept out and snatched both under the guise of \u201ccrisis management.\u201d<\/p>\n

Because good crises were never meant to be wasted.<\/p>\n

And he\u2019s not done reaching.<\/strong> This president, who oozes charm from every pore in a way that makes Bill Clinton look like a true slick-hick-used-car-salesman, is going to continue to campaign and speak and smile and laugh, and (with the help of all-media) dazzle a huge percentage of the nation, while snatching control of the press, the travel industry (business already goes to Vegas by his leave, only) and eventually, yes, the churches<\/a>. More on that later.<\/p>\n

Obama says he wants everyone to \u201ccome together\u201d despite differences in opinion. Replaying the \u201cpost-partisan\u201d campaign themes that were proved fallacious with his fast \u201cI won,\u201d<\/a> the president wants us to find \u201ccommon ground\u201d on abortion<\/a>, using \u201cfair-minded words\u201d and eliminating \u201ccaricatures\u201d, as long as everyone understands that \u201ccommon ground\u201d will give no quarter<\/a> to the most minimal requests of the pro-lifers; that \u201cfair-minded words\u201d and \u201ccaricatures\u201d are relative<\/a>, and that \u201clooking past our differences\u201d means the savagery of partial birth abortion<\/a> will go forward, unabated as we \u201cwork with\u201d a president who voted twice against laws that would allow medical treatment of babies born alive during attempted abortions.
\n
\nThat\u2019s kind of odd, when you think about it.<\/strong> A guy who thinks \u201cevery crisis is an opportunity,\u201d and who professes a Christian belief<\/a>, looks at an accidental pregnancy only<\/em> as a \u201cpunishment\u201d and never<\/em> as an \u201copportunity.\u201d Or -gasp-<\/em> a blessing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In President Obama\u2019s world, \u201ccommon ground\u201d and \u201clooking beyond differences\u201d means simply, \u201cI won. I have both houses. I\u2019m going to name at least three judges. All I have to do is smile and smile, and use the language of conciliation while doing just what I please.\u201d<\/p>\n

The language of conciliation is just words<\/em>, after all. Actions speak louder<\/a>. Flip-flopping is not compromise<\/a> or \u201ccommon ground,\u201d it is mere political expediency.<\/p>\n

America\u2019s greatness has until now rested in the genius of her people, unshackled from heavy governmental intrusion and free to dream. It almost feels like Obama wants Americans to put their dreams away<\/a>, to subsume its genius to his government; where true genius doth abide.<\/p>\n

And if you don\u2019t want these particular plans<\/em> to succeed? If you dissent? Why\u2026that\u2019s treason<\/a>, isn\u2019t it (laughlaugh)?<\/p>\n

Dissent is no longer the highest form of patriotism; that would be obedience.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of this, all of this can be yours. Just give me what I want, and nobody gets hurt.\u201d

Hey, the president is cool. He\u2019s got it all under control. He makes us smile. Plug those iPod buds back into your ears<\/a> and stand in this line right over here.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour love is teaching me how to kneel<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

America has some of this coming;<\/strong> complacency and materialism has rendered her somnolent. President Bush, while keeping us very safe asked nothing of us, and that contributed to an unhealthy detachment. Eventually, we were going to have to wake up. But this is one hell of a Reveille.<\/p>\n
