\nHillary Clinton sort of looking at Our Lady of Guadalupe<\/em><\/p>\n

Okay, I admit I\u2019m being a bit snarky with the headline. I\u2019m not really<\/em> calling Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama \u201csnakes\u201d \u2013 I\u2019m just having a little fun with scripture, and the whole notion that the two biggest abortion proponents in the country are having Marian encounters.<\/p>\n

If you are unfamiliar with the concept of Mary as The New Eve, there\u2019s lots of info<\/a> out there, and a few lovely<\/a> meditations<\/a> by some of our nun friends, too.<\/p>\n

Anyway, so President Obama is going to go to Notre Dame University<\/strong> (amid some uproar<\/a>) and Hillary Clinton, while in Mexico City<\/a>, viewed the miraculous image<\/a> of Our Lady of Guadalupe.<\/p>\n

\nDuring her recent visit to Mexico, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made an unexpected stop at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe and left a bouquet of white flowers \u201con behalf of the American people,\u201d after asking who painted the famous image.<\/p>\n

The image of Our Lady of Guadalupe was miraculously imprinted by Mary on the tilma, or cloak, of St. Juan Diego in 1531. The image has numerous unexplainable phenomena, such as the appearance on Mary\u2019s eyes of those present in the room when the tilma was opened and the image\u2019s lack of decay.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Clinton was received on Thursday at 8:15 a.m. by the rector of the Basilica, Msgr. Diego Monroy.<\/p>\n

Msgr. Monroy took Mrs. Clinton to the famous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which had been previously lowered from its usual altar for the occasion. After observing it for a while, Mrs. Clinton asked \u201cwho painted it?\u201d to which Msgr. Monroy responded \u201cGod!\u201d

\nAfter placing a bouquet of white flowers by the image, Mrs. Clinton went to the quemador \u2013the open air area at the Basilica where the faithful light candles- and lit a green candle. Leaving the basilica half an hour later, Mrs. Clinton told some of the Mexicans gathered outside to greet her, \u201cyou have a marvelous virgin!\u201d <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cWho painted it,\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n

Doh!<\/a> Another State Department error<\/a>! It\u2019s a good thing we have a \u201csmart\u201d State Department, now<\/a>, instead of the \u201cdumb\u201d one we had for the last 8 years!<\/p>\n

Nice Deb<\/strong> points out<\/a> that after visiting this Patroness of the Unborn (and of the Americas) Mrs. Clinton went off to receive Planned Parenthood\u2019s highest award:<\/p>\n

I can tell she was very affected by her encounter with the Protectress of the Unborn. Last night, Clinton received the highest award given by Planned Parenthood: the Margaret Sanger Award, named for the organization\u2019s founder, a noted eugenicist. <\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
