I just saw a little gem from Terry Hurlbut, resident creationism expert on examiner.com.\u00a0 It was just too funny not to post.<\/p>\n

Hurlbut\u2019s argument today is that contra<\/i> the scientific establishment, widespread acceptance of creationism would actually improve science and research.\u00a0 If you need a laugh you really should read the entire thing<\/a>.\u00a0 Here are some highlights and I left in the links to his other brilliant works.\u00a0 I seriously question whether someone who can actually read and write could be this stupid.\u00a0 Maybe he actually works for our side.<\/p>\n

[A] creation-oriented society would take scientific education, research, and investigation in a new direction. Astronomers would stop looking for \u201cdark matter\u201d and \u201cdark energy,\u201d and instead develop a uniform cosmology<\/a> with insights from the Annals of Creation<\/a>. It would find this model much simpler than the Big Bang model<\/a> has now become.<\/p>\n

Geology would return<\/a> to its pre-Lyell understanding<\/a>. The result might, perhaps, lead to improved fossil-fuel<\/a> exploration\u2026.<\/p>\n

Zoology would become a much more exciting discipline than it is today\u2026. Expeditions to find live dinosaurs<\/a> would be more than the stuff of science fiction\u2026and would receive serious attention and funding.<\/p>\n

Linguistics would take up the question of whether Hebrew<\/a> (or a sort of Old High Hebrew) is the original root language of mankind<\/a>. \u2026And every shipwright in this society would stand in humble awe of the greatest and most important project in the annals of naval architecture. For that matter, serious attempts to reverse-engineer Noah\u2019s Ark<\/a> might lead to rediscoveries of certain lost shipbuilding arts that would make modern ships safer than they are today.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In short, creationism, far from retarding science, would free it to fulfill its proper role: knowledge and understanding of the true nature of man, and how to live as God intended him to live, rather than a prideful pursuit of \u201cimprovements\u201d that turn out to be, quite simply, curses.<\/p>\n

Anyone who thinks that creationism isn\u2019t \u201cretarding science\u201d should reflect on what it\u2019s doing to this guy.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
