When people speak about \u201cbiblical values,\u201d they are usually doing so for one of two reasons.\u00a0 The first is that they\u2019re just plain ignorant about what the bible actually says.\u00a0 The second is that they actually LIKE the cruddy, anachronistic and often murderous values of the bible.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a great example of the latter.\u00a0 On Tuesday night, President Obama awarded the Medal of Honor to Army Sgt. Salvatore Giunta who bravely saved two of his comrades in a fierce battle in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n

So naturally Bryan Fischer, director of Issues Analysis for the the American Family Association, something to say about that.\u00a0 He wrote on his AFA blog<\/a>:<\/p>\n

We have feminized the Medal of Honor.<\/p>\n

\u2026When we think of heroism in battle, we used the think of our boys storming the beaches of Normandy\u2026.<\/p>\n

That kind of heroism has apparently become passe when it comes to awarding the Medal of Honor. We now award it only for preventing casualties, not for inflicting them.<\/p>\n

So the question is this: when are we going to start awarding the Medal of Honor once again for soldiers who kill people and break things so our families can sleep safely at night?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Misogyny? Check. Murderous impulse? Check.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve got to give him credit.\u00a0 He really does believe in biblical values.<\/p>\n
