Speaking of obsequiousness to evil, here is the Lord Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks\u2019 reaction<\/a> to meeting Darth Benedict:<\/span><\/div>\n

Lord Sacks said: \u201cSoul touched soul across the boundaries of faith, and there was a blessed moment of healing\u201d.\n

The Chief Rabbi added that the Pope \u201cvalued\u201d the Catholic-Jewish relationship and that \u201che wanted the work to continue and deepen [it]\u201d.<\/p>\n

Lord Sacks, whose full title is Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth, said that welcoming the Pope on behalf of non-Christians in Britain was \u201ca moment I shall never forget\u201d.<\/p>\n

He added that the meeting illustrated the Vatican\u2019s emphasis on the \u201cimportance of respect and friendship between faiths\u201d.<\/p>\n

The meeting was of particular significance, he said, because of the \u201ctear-stained history of the Catholic-Jewish relationship\u201d.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cOver the centuries, the relationship between the Church and the Jews has been one of the saddest stories in the history of religion\u201d \u2013 and one, he said, that \u201cmight have continued were it not for the darkest night of all, the Holocaust\u201d.<\/p><\/span><\/div>\n

I will translate this for you.\u00a0 Lord Sacks is saying that he and Ratzi are soul-mates, that Judaism and Catholicism are now besties and that even though they literally screwed us to hell up to and right through the Holocaust, they realized that they\u2019d gone a tiny bit too far.<\/span><\/div>\n
