The New York Daily News<\/i><\/span><\/a> and other sources are reporting about a speech given to Haredi Jews yesterday by New York Republican gubernatorial nominee, Carl Paladino.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a sample:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want [children] brainwashed into thinking homosexuality is an equally valid and successful option \u2013 it isn\u2019t,\u201d Paladino said to applause at a meeting with Hasidic Jewish leaders in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

My blood is boiling so hot right now that if feels like lava.\u00a0 What the hell he is talking about?\u00a0 Is he unaware of the rash of gay teen suicides that has been all over the news?\u00a0 This is truly sick.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just as disgusting is the misinformation that drips from the lips of Williamsburg\u2019s theocracy:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe primary issue with Orthodox Jews is that gay marriage poses an existential threat to religious liberty,\u201d said Rabbi Noson Leiter, executive director of Torah Jews for Decency.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Really? \u00a0Religious liberty is at stake by granting equal rights to an American minority?\u00a0 Do they think they\u2019re going to be forced to perform gay marriages?\u00a0 That can\u2019t possibly be it.\u00a0 There is no actual meaning in that statement.\u00a0 It\u2019s just a bunch of words strung together.<\/span><\/p>\n

No, the real substance here is that Paladino and these wise rabbis are hateful and vile.\u00a0 They are an example of everything that is wrong with religion today.\u00a0 They bring death (yes, death) and misery into the world in God\u2019s name and under the guise of morality.<\/p>\n
