ME:<\/strong> Why hello. Yes, that property you are calling about is still for rent. Why yes, the rent is $425 a month.<\/p>\n

PERSON:<\/strong> Is it nice? I hate it when people rent houses that aren\u2019t nice or something they wouldn\u2019t live in themselves. Is the kitchen updated & appliances new? <\/p>\n

ME:<\/strong> We have photos available on our website. And of course if the appliances are not in working order they will be repaired. <\/p>\n

PERSON:<\/strong> But I don\u2019t want some used old thing. I want a new stove and refrigerator. You know. Something nice<\/em>. <\/p>\n

ME:<\/strong> Well it does rent for only $425 a month so no, it\u2019s not going to have granite counter tops and brand new stainless steel appliances. We do have another property that has recently been updated that might work. Newer appliances, refrigerator with ice maker in the door, new microwave and range hood. But it rents for $675. <\/p>\n

PERSON:<\/strong> That\u2019s too much! Look just cause I can\u2019t afford anything nice doesn\u2019t mean that I don\u2019t deserve anything nice. I deserve to have the best, just like anyone else, and it\u2019s discriminatory to deny me that! <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Of course what I really wanted to do was to tell her she wasn\u2019t entitled to shit and to hang up the damn phone and quit wasting my time. But no, I simply thanked her for calling us and suggested she check back later in the month to see if we had something in her price range a bit more suitable. Perfectly professional and always cordial.
