Look, I love Thanksgiving and eating turkey till I pass out and wallowing in gluttony as much as the next guy\u2026 but why does this have to be reflected in the Mass with all kinds of kook boogery?<\/p>\n

Case in point #1:<\/strong> the annual ecumenical interfaith worship service. blech.
Case in point #2:<\/strong> a parish, who shall remain anonymous \u2026 but those who know me can probably figure it out\u2026 is having the parish write \u2018thank you\u2019 notes and place them in a basket. The basket of thank fullness<\/em> will then be presented at the altar during<\/em> Mass by high school and middle school youth. seriously. Blech. <\/p>\n

Last time I checked\u2026 the mass was<\/em> thanks giving\u2026 hell, \u201cEucharist\u201d even means thanks giving. You don\u2019t really need all the extra liturgical B.S to drive it home\u2026 if you do, than you got bigger congregational problems than a basket of notes carried by groups of prancing kids can ever begin to scratch.<\/p>\n
