\u2026 this weekend I retired my smart phone, the same phone that went all stupid-o in Rome. It was traded in for a regular talk and text phone with a limited call plan. About the only fancy thing it does is takes photos. No games. No emails. No Facebook or Twitter. No fun apps that tell me movie times, how far I walked, or where the nearest ABC store is. <\/p>\n

And I\u2019m totally lost! I\u2019m the only commuter on the bus actually reading a book! How archaic. I just sit there and scowl at them, all smug, with their faces cast down on their fanciful iPhones listening to Pandora and reading the news on their tablets. Bastards. <\/p>\n

But it\u2019s all for a good cause. Every cent I don\u2019t spend on gadgets and toys is a penny that goes into the Camino Jar. It\u2019s quite satisfying actually, saving for a specific cause. It\u2019s turned being poor and frugal into a little game\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026 the game where I asked my friends if I can hold and caress their Androids. Just for old time\u2019s sake. <\/p>\n
