\u2026 some of the most drastic things in life are done in the name if love. Some of the even more desperately drastic things have been done out of fear of loneliness. Women are the worst for the latter. <\/p>\n

Being single isn\u2019t the end of the world. Loneliness is not exclusive to singles either; even married people experience loneliness. And being single doesn\u2019t necessarily mean you are doomed to a constant state of sheer despair. In fact I am tired of the two words, single and lonely, being used synonymously. <\/p>\n

Slowly but surely I am growing to love my status in life; single-hood. There\u2019s no one around to judge me if I want to eat a pop tart for dinner while standing over the kitchen sink donning sweat pants and fuzzy slippers\u2026 like I did this evening. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s taken me awhile to get here but here I am, and happily so. <\/p>\n

Seraphic Singles<\/a> is a great blog for those happily single people, or those who are trying to be happier. Wallowing gets you nowhere. Despair is spiritually corruptive and that is why it\u2019s important to find the positive joys in whatever status God has you placed in for the moment.<\/p>\n

For a light hearted and uplifting read I would like to recommend, not only Mrs. Cumming\u2019s blog, but her book The Closet\u2019s All Mine<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis humorous narrative reveals the thoughts, advice, and fractured social life of a serious young Catholic woman who\u2013no matter what\u2013is determined to remain true to the Church\u2019s moral teachings.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hm. Sound familiar? Do yourself a favour. Order this book and read it with a glass of wine. .. or two. Then give it to your girlfriend as a Valentine\u2019s Day present.<\/p>\n
