In Brazi on St. John\u2019s Eve families light bonfires and set off fireworks, pop caps and fire crackers and generally just blow stuff up. Or something to that effect. What do I know, I\u2019m Puerto Rican. We just drink blue agave tequilla and dance on feasts days. <\/p>\n

Fire is just one more thing that makes us culturally cooler than our pagan* counterparts. The Holy Spirit is represented as fire, the Orthodox have their Holy Fire, we are tested by fire and our sins are purged in the fires of purgatory\u2026 really you get the idea. Fire, good. Burning stuff, better. Candles. Incense. Heretics. <\/p>\n
