<\/iframe><\/p>\n<blockquote>This Ad Has a Secret Anti-Abuse Message That Only Kids Can See<\/p>\nIn an effort to provide abused children with a safe way to reach out for help, a Spanish organization called the Aid to Children and Adolescents at Risk Foundation, or ANAR for short, created an ad that displays a different message for adults and children at the same time.<\/p>\nThe secret behind the ad\u2019s wizardry is a lenticular top layer, which shows different images at varying angles. So when an adult\u2014or anyone taller than four feet, five inches\u2014looks at it they only see the image of a sad child and the message: \u201csometimes, child abuse is only visible to the child suffering it.\u201d But when a child looks at the ad, they see bruises on the boy\u2019s face and a different message: \u201cif somebody hurts you, phone us and we\u2019ll help you\u201d alongside the foundation\u2019s phone number.<\/p>\nThe ad is designed to empower kids, particularly if their abuser happens to be standing right next to them. And while this is a great and worthwhile use of lenticular images, how long will it be before toy companies start doing to the same thing to hawk their products directly at kids? [<a href=\"http:\/\/gizmodo.com\/this-ad-has-a-secret-anti-abuse-message-that-only-kids-493108460?utm_campaign=socialflow_gizmodo_facebook&utm_source=gizmodo_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">SOURCE<\/a>]<\/p><\/blockquote>\nEh. It\u2019s not the toy manufacturers that I worry about. Sticking things at eye level for kids to see is an old trick that store merchants have been using for quite some time. All those ridiculous sugary cereals are stocked on the bottom two shelves in grocery stores for a reason. <\/p>\nNo, my concern lays elsewhere. Namely, the loathsome nefarious government and their constant subversive tactics that peck away at the family structure. I foresee ads like these becoming commonplace in the very near future suggesting that children be on the look out for suspicious anti-government behavior within their families and where to report it. That\u2019s where I see this \u201ctechnology\u201d going. Remember <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/2011\/12\/08\/143319965\/officials-detail-plans-to-fight-terrorism-at-home\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">the Department of Education\u2019s strategy<\/a> to turn American schoolchildren into Pavliks to fight \u201chomegrown\u201d terrorism?
