She talked about a person selling pencils and how the money they earned is circulated in the economy, creating more tax revenue and jobs.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\nWith that small amount of information, I was determined to be a Republican and stayed until ten years ago, when I registered as an Independent.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\nUnlike helping the pencil sellers, modern Republicans like Trump tend to enable Billionaires and Corporations and ignore the smaller businesses, hoping the economy will trickle down.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\nBy the way, it never does because billionaires tend to keep their money, and that\u2019s how they become billionaires. They resist luxury and capital gains taxes.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\nYes, prices are high, but we are coming down slowly after COVID-19 and healing and recovering. Most economic indicators are trending in the right direction.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\nHowever, none of these reasons are why we should consider voting blue. Trump has destroyed the Republican Party and is determined to overturn our democracy. The economy will eventually recover, but if we don\u2019t save democracy and decency, we may not recover from the autocrats coming to power.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\nJerry Falwell and his buddies started this progression toward Christian Nationalism, and it has almost reached fruition. We have to preserve our freedoms, including our freedom of religion. We can\u2019t let these fringe religious elements take over our country.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\nThese are my feelings, much like people such as Liz Cheney and other Republicans are expressing. It\u2019s YOUR vote, and you don\u2019t even have to tell anyone how you vote. But it DOES matter, and every vote counts.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
