I\u2019m fighting it today.<\/p>\n
Awoke at 4:30 a.m. Couldn\u2019t fall back to sleep. So I turned on the coffee, read the papers (online) and played Lexulous until Vasco woke up.<\/p>\n
Went down to my office about 7 and my desktop computer was off. It\u2019s never off. Weird. I turned it on and began sending emails, working on a few things and \u2026 pooof! \u2026 it went off.<\/p>\n
Huh. Really weird. Never done that before.<\/p>\n
I powered it back on, and it made the happy Apple \u201cbummmmmmmm\u201d noise, and then, pooof! Back off.<\/p>\n
Panic set in.<\/p>\n
I walked upstairs and told Maury that the computer might be sick. Or dead.<\/p>\n
\u201cMum?\u201d V asked from the couch. \u201cWhy are you crying?\u201d<\/p>\n
While Maury took V to school, I grabbed my laptop and headed back down to the office to call Apple.<\/p>\n
I tried one more time to power Old Bessie up and she turned on just fine. Phew!<\/p>\n
Fastforward 2.5 hours. I\u2019m in the middle of my \u201cToday\u2026in God\u201d post and pooooooof! Bye-bye again.<\/p>\n
Wailing and gnashing of teeth.<\/p>\n
I tried again to power her on, and there she was again, seemingly happy and healthy. (BTW, I did run diagnostics on her earlier this a.m. and everything seemed fine.)<\/p>\n
So I went back in to finish the TIG post (happily WordPress autosaves drafts) and a little before 11 a.m., I hit \u201cpost.\u201d<\/p>\n
But when the post posted, it was empty.<\/p>\n
Wha?<\/p>\n
Why?<\/p>\n
Whhhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyy?<\/p>\n
No drafts saved. Nothing in the Time Capsule.<\/p>\n
So \u2026 yeah. That\u2019s my Monday so far.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m going to put my head down and have a time out now.<\/p>\n
