Just when you thought maybe there had been enough films dealing with the Church and the occult to hold us for a few years, now we have several more on the way. There\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/thefilmstage.com\/2011\/02\/04\/jeff-bridges-signs-on-for-exorcism-film-the-seventh-son\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Seventh Son<\/a> starring the amazing Jeff Bridges, the second film (after <span style=\"font-style:italic\">Revenge of the Witch<\/span>) in the series based on the popular children\u2019s (children\u2019s? really?) book series <span style=\"font-style:italic\">The Last Apprentice<\/span> by Joseph Delaney, according to the Film Stage website. The film will also star Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar-nominated lead actress from <span style=\"font-style:italic\">Winter\u2019s Bone<\/span>, as a witch. Film Stage says Bridges will play a mysterious character named Spook (and says the book\u2019s original \u201cnon-American title\u201d was <span style=\"font-style:italic\">The Spook\u2019s Apprentice<\/span>; apparently this word does not have a negative racist connotation in the UK) encountered by a young man named Tom Ward with paranormal abilities who is training to be an exorcist.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/life\/movies\/news\/2011-02-03-exorcism03_ST_N.htm\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">USA Today<\/a> announces a new series to premiere on the Discovery Channel, <span style=\"font-style:italic\">The Exorcist Files<\/span> (get it? kinda like <span style=\"font-style:italic\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.witchvox.com\/va\/dt_va.html?a=usma&amp;c=media&amp;id=1908\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">The X Files<\/a><\/span>?), that will follow real exorcists investigating supposed cases of demonic possession. <a href=\"http:\/\/insidetv.ew.com\/2011\/01\/05\/discovery-exorcist-files\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Inside TV<\/a> details the close involvement with the Vatican that will occur to create an authentic series, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2011\/01\/05\/exorcism-reality-show-the_n_805046.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Huffington Post<\/a> thinks Romania might be a good place for the show to do some filming.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_NTNKxxT4EEk\/TVKvBp2NleI\/AAAAAAAABEc\/ONB-IwbiPnA\/s1600\/Priest-Paul-Bettany-short-28-6-10-kc.jpg\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer;cursor:hand;width: 400px;height: 306px\" src=\"https:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_NTNKxxT4EEk\/TVKvBp2NleI\/AAAAAAAABEc\/ONB-IwbiPnA\/s400\/Priest-Paul-Bettany-short-28-6-10-kc.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\"><\/a>It may not have to do directly with exorcism, but the forthcoming sci-fi film <span style=\"font-style:italic\">Priest<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0822847\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><\/a><\/span> stars Paul Bettany as a man of the cloth in a post-apocalyptic world full of vampires who wields his special powers to fight evil.
