Recently, the Treasure announced the amazing news that Harriet Tubman will be the new face of a $20 USA bill; which, by the way, is very cool. Think about it for a second, let it wash over you with all the gentle nuances that can flow from the Divine to your heart concerning a former slave replacing a slave owner. This is EPIC, in fact I tend to think it\u2019s beyond epic.<\/p>\n
Harriet Tubman will be the first African-American on US currency, and that is big in my book. The beautiful thing about Ms. Tubman is that she didn\u2019t spend her life fight for capitalism, free trade, competitive markets or interest rates; she spent her live in service to humanity, fighting to end the bondage of slavery that polluted the soul of a Nation, the soul of the world. She struggled to bring equality to all people. She was a woman who escaped the bonds of slavery in the South to eventually led hundreds of escaped slaves to freedom as a conductor of the Underground Railroad. Her spirit held a deep connection with the Divine, striving to bring equality to all people, freedom from slavery and freedom for the slave owners to see the wonders of the Divine in all people. She assisted the Union Army, was an American abolitionist, humanitarian, and a women of great vision. She lived the life we should all strive to live \u2013 it was not about her, it was about us. She lived by the words, \u201cThere is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus,<\/em>\u201d and hoped for a nation to see past skin color, and see the humanity in us all.<\/p>\n I\u2019ve heard it said, \u2018today we have no heroes<\/em>,\u2019 but I beg to differ. We have amazing heroes. Heroes like Ms. Tubman a woman born in the era of slavery, and lives a life of service to humanity in ways many of us could not even imagine. I find so much joy and justice in replacing a slave owner, with a former slave, it brings a major smile to my face. To find our heroes, we need to look at people who aren\u2019t set on greed, power, or fame. We need to look to people who simply want to make life better for all people. When I listen to the voices of those who are upset with Ms. Tubman being added to the $20, I hear the noise of those who seek the opposite. Those people seek to divide us, people like Donald Trump who said, that her replacing Andrew Jackson was simply an act of \u201cpure political correctness,\u201d [Just so you know where I\u2019m coming from, this is not political correctness<\/em>, it is however, correcting history<\/em>]. People like Ben Carson who suggested she be placed on a $2. To those who, for whatever reason, find it hard to see Ms. Tubman on your $20, may I suggest that you take those dirty, politically correct Obama 20\u2019s<\/em> and send them to the NAACP<\/a>, or the UNCF<\/a> \u2013 they will put that money to good use, saving the soul of a nation and educating the next generation of great thinkers, and doers.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Recently, the Treasure announced the amazing news that Harriet Tubman will be the new face of a $20 USA bill; which, by the way, is very cool.
