*To be clear, I did not write this. I do think it is making a great point about not investing \u201cmessianic\u201d like hopes into another election\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n

\u2026.The truth is that it doesn\u2019t matter who is elected in November. Next year, when January turns into February, and the President sits comfortably in the White House, nothing will have changed. America\u2019s economy will still be completely\u00a0dependent<\/a>\u00a0upon enabling humans to kill other humans. We will still\u00a0occupy other nations<\/a>\u00a0despite the majority opinion in those nations. We will still hold anarsenal<\/a>\u00a0capable of destroying the entirety of humanity many times over. We will still be the\u00a0largest supplier of deadly arms<\/a>\u00a0across the globe, many of which we will destroy ourselves in future conflict. We will do these things and call ourselves a nation of peace.<\/p>\n

We will still\u00a0incarcerate more of our citizens<\/a>\u00a0by proportion than any other nation on earth. We will still murder each other by willful homicide and neglect at a rate shocking compared to other industrial nations. We will still have an\u00a0infant mortality rate<\/a>\u00a0surpassing all other nations with our wealth, yet at the same time\u00a0spend more money on healthcare<\/a>\u00a0than most. We will still\u00a0allow people to die<\/a>\u00a0in the streets because they cannot afford healthcare. We will still\u00a0snuff out millions of potential lives<\/a>\u00a0because of the burden (real and imagined) they will place on our lives. We will do these things and call ourselves a nation of life.<\/p>\n

We will still incarcerate at one time or another\u00a0one third<\/a>\u00a0of an entire race. We will still\u00a0incarcerate<\/a>the desperate throngs yearning to be free, who come to this nation like every race before them, with nothing more than the clothes on their back. We will still enslave the majority of our citizens in\u00a0debt<\/a>\u00a0by convincing them to want things they do not need, and inflating the price of those things they do. We will do all these things and call ourselves a nation of liberty.<\/p>\n

\u2026.We will still\u00a0not<\/a>\u00a0feed the hungry, clothe the naked, or heal the sick. We will still boast with aprideful arrogance<\/a>\u00a0unmatched on the planet. We will still abuse the orphans, the widows, and the aliens. We will still believe that\u00a0greed<\/a>\u00a0will drive us forward. We will still murder, steal, lie, commit adultery, covet, and invoke the name of God to advance our own desires. We will still worship things created and turn our back on the Creator. We will do all of these things and call ourselves a Christian nation\u2026..
