William<\/strong><\/p>\n

Penny is sitting on William\u2019s face.<\/p>\n

He pushes her off. \u201cPenny, my head is not a playground.\u201d<\/p>\n

She nods. Good point.<\/p>\n

Marilee<\/strong><\/p>\n

Marilee wakes us up at 1:30 a.m. Peter attends to her. From my half-awake state, I hear her say \u201cHa Da Da.\u201d It may well have been a loud exhale and then some babble, but it kept us both going to think she was saying hello to her dad.<\/p>\n

Penny<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was trying to round out this post with a cute or witty thing Penny has said lately, and nothing came to mind. Then I realized that she often sounds more like an adult than I expect. Like when she says, \u201cThat\u2019s cool, Mom. Is that cool?\u201d or when she needs correction for mumbling, \u201cOh my God.\u201d She\u2019s talking more and more, asking more and more questions, learning how to express what she\u2019s feeling instead of repeating a question over and over (\u201cWhat time is Nana coming?\u201d has become \u201cI can\u2019t wait for Nana to come.\u201d). And she\u2019s still saying my favorite words, out of the blue, in unexpected moments every day: \u201cI really love you, Mom.\u201d It doesn\u2019t get any better than that.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
