2.\u00a0Meanwhile, at the Legacy conference being held<\/a> at Chicago\u2019s Moody Bible Institute<\/a>, there\u2019s some legit rapping going on (still going on tonight<\/a>\u2013check it out).\u00a0<\/p>\n

I should know\u2013I was there last night and heard Trip Lee<\/a>, Flame<\/a>, and Lecrae<\/a>.\u00a0 I also met Odd Thomas<\/a> (who kindly gave me his cd, which is good, particularly \u201cFather Figure Skating\u201d) and talked a bit with Propaganda<\/a>.\u00a0 The conference was run by a local Christian rap collective that features Katalyst<\/a> and Decipha<\/a>\u2013both talented and really good guys.\u00a0 Check their stuff out.<\/p>\n

3. While we\u2019re on the rapping thing, a classic selection: Kobe Bryant and Tyra Banks perform \u201cK.O.B.E.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0 I am not making this up.\u00a0 Yes, it is as strange you might think.\u00a0 The part where Kobe raps in Italian and the crowd goes totally quiet is one of the more awkward (and hilarious) public moments I\u2019ve seen.<\/p>\n

4. 20 ways to waste your money by a Kiplinger\u2019s writer.<\/a>\u00a0 Very helpful.\u00a0 This will help families (and singles) with budgeting.\u00a0 Also, here\u2019s a list of \u201cfabulous freebies\u201d by Kiplinger\u2019s<\/a>.\u00a0 Good stuff.\u00a0<\/p>\n

5. My buddy Reid Monaghan, a careful thinker and gifted communicator, nicely handles the subject of cussing and speech from a biblical perspective<\/a>.<\/p>\n

6. You should really watch this.<\/a>\u00a0 It\u2019s a riotous\u00a0take on the \u201cSuper Bowl Shuffle\u201d by some kind of foodstore made about two decades ago.\u00a0 The old man who raps at around the one minute mark is outrageously funny.\u00a0 People of the present who rap: think before you embarrass yourself on the mic.<\/p>\n

7. Thinking about the Kindle?\u00a0 This analysis of it by The New Yorker<\/em> will make you think.<\/a><\/p>\n

8. A fun take on the universal health care plan currently being debated by our national politicians.<\/a><\/p>\n
