$\"\"$ <\/a>Almost a year ago I blogged on the Tide \u201cDad Mom\u201d commercial<\/a>. \u00a0I had been watching Tim Tebow carve somebody up and buried myself in the\u00a0New Yorker\u00a0<\/em>issue I was reading during breaks in the game. \u00a0Suddenly some dude pops up on the television and announces himself as a \u201cdad mom.\u201d \u00a0He had my full attention.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not going to unwind the whole issue here. \u00a0Instead, I want to list some resources that, in God\u2019s providence, I\u2019ve been involved with in hopes of helping people think this issue through from a biblical standpoint. \u00a0There is of course no chapter in the Bible on stay-at-home fathers, though I think that there is definitely biblical material that bears on this conversation.<\/p>\n

I should also say that a \u201cdad mom\u201d is, in my original language, a \u201cman fail.\u201d \u00a0But so is a father who never makes time for his children. \u00a0So is a man who consistently loses his temper with his wife. \u00a0So, in other words, are we all at different points. \u00a0Every father, every husband, every man fails at some point. \u00a0This is why we need the image and power of Christ ever before us and working in us.<\/p>\n
