\"\"<\/a>Pixar\u2019s much-anticipated movie Brave is coming! It\u2019s the first time the (mostly) boys at Pixar have had a female protagonist and she leaves oldschool Disney princesses in the dust.<\/p>\n

Recent ones, not so much.<\/p>\n

Still, I have to say, I\u2019m getting a little tired of the modern Disney girl, the \u201cI\u2019m not going to get married\u201d and \u201cI just want to fight like the boys\u201d and \u201cI can be as tough and independent as any prince charming\u201d girls.<\/p>\n

Yeah. We get it. You\u2019re liberated.<\/p>\n

It just feels like they\u2019re fighting yesterday\u2019s battle. What about the \u201cI want to have it all\u201d girl or the \u201cI know I\u2019ll have to make hard choices to do everything in life and I will be very grateful to have a good man by my side\u201d girl.<\/p>\n

Can we get that?<\/p>\n

Still, the movie looks beautiful and funny, so I\u2019m hopeful it\u2019s more than just a girl who wants to shoot arrows like the boys.<\/p>\n
