I am Editing a Patheos Nonreligious Book

I am Editing a Patheos Nonreligious Book April 8, 2017

I am in the process, and have been for some time, of editing a collection of essays/chapters provided by a number of writers here at Patheos Nonreligious. There are so many interesting perspectives that I thought it would be great to pull those voices into a single place to showcase the network.

The working title is Not Seeing God Through 20 Skeptical Lenses: Atheism in the 21st Century. The book will be split into three sections, as is:

  1. Deconstructing God
  2. Reflecting on Godlessness in Modern Society
  3. Looking Toward a Future in a Godless World

It’s an exciting project that will hopefully be a worthy contribution to the atheist community, for want of a better term.

The idea sprang from a similar project I did with my previous blogging network, The Skeptic Ink Network. We produced a great book called 13 Reasons to Doubt. With thirteen varied chapters on skepticism (as opposed to atheism in a direct sense), the book is a great, fascinating ride through some differing ideas, representing the writers at SIN.

13ReasonstoDoubt

It’s a great book, with its US Amazon reviews hijacked by two stalking Christian reviewers (if anyone wants to balance those views with more accurate reviews, please do so). Please grab yourself a copy and let me know what you think.

My own chapter in 13 Reasons to Doubt was concerning the skepticism of free will (unsurprisingly, if you know me). In the Patheos book, I have penned a concise synopsis of many of my arguments against the existence of the OmniGod of classical theism.
