A morning prayer for this new day, from John Henry Cardinal Newman<\/a>\u00a0(via CatholiCity.com<\/a>):<\/p>\n

The Mission Of My Life<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

God has created me to do Him some definite service.<\/p>\n

He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another.<\/p>\n

I have my mission.<\/p>\n

I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons.<\/p>\n

He has not created me for naught.<\/p>\n

I shall do good; I shall do His work.<\/p>\n

I shall be an angel of peace, a preacher of truth in my own place, while not intending it if I do but keep His commandments.<\/p>\n

Therefore, I will trust Him, whatever I am, I can never be thrown away.<\/p>\n

If I am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him, in perplexity, my perplexity may serve Him.<\/p>\n

If I am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve Him. He does nothing in vain. He knows what He is about.<\/p>\n

He may take away my friends. He may throw me among strangers.<\/p>\n

He may make me feel desolate, make my spirits sink, hide my future from me.<\/p>\n

Still, He knows what He is about.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We were, each of us, loved into existence for a specific purpose.<\/p>\n

We were, each of us, given a mission:<\/p>\n

\n

He has not created me for naught<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

My prayer \u2013 a prayer for each of us \u2013 is that we find, act upon, and today begin to fulfill that divine\u00a0mission.<\/p>\n
