You don\u2019t know me.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve never met.<\/p>\n

But what if you did know me?<\/p>\n

What if you knew that<\/p>\n

I am not shielded from pain?<\/p>\n

Or that I have a voice<\/p>\n

That you can\u2019t yet hear?<\/p>\n

Would you feel any differently?<\/p>\n

Did you know that I can hear you?<\/p>\n

And that my thoughts are mine?<\/p>\n

Thoughts which dispatch awkward movements, yes.<\/p>\n

But even so, movements which incessantly probe<\/p>\n

The harmony of my own mind, my own spirit, my own being.<\/p>\n

All very much like yours, of course.<\/p>\n

So \u2013 what if you knew?<\/p>\n

Or do you already know?<\/p>\n

And does that knowing make any difference?<\/p>\n

Father and maker of all,\u00a0you adorn all creation\u00a0with splendor and beauty,\u00a0and fashion human lives\u00a0in your image and likeness.<\/p>\n

Awaken in every heart\u00a0reverence for the work of your hands,\u00a0and renew among your people\u00a0a readiness to nurture and sustain\u00a0your precious gift of life \u2013 USCCB.org<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
