Killing, Not Care – The Point

Killing, Not Care – The Point February 13, 2017

My day job is writing for the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview, the folks behind “BreakPoint.” We also do a daily radio minute called “The Point,” hosted by Colson Center president, John Stonestreet. I co-write these broadcasts, so my boss has asked me to share my favorites here as regular blog entries.

The_Point_Patheos_HeaderRecently on BreakPoint we reported how investigators at Live Action called 97 Planned Parenthood locations to ask if they provided prenatal care. Almost none did. But Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards insists her organization deserves federal funding because it provides, in her words, “prenatal care.”

Well this week, a new Live Action video reports on women who asked 68 Planned Parenthood facilities for one of the main services essential to prenatal care: an ultrasound. With only three exceptions, their clinics only use them to check the baby’s age and position before performing an abortion.

I_stand_with_Planned_Parenthood_2In other words, at Planned Parenthood, ultrasounds are for killing, not care. Former clinic managers interviewed by Live Action admit that Planned Parenthood technicians often turn the monitors away during ultrasounds, as if they’re hiding something. It’s a strange move for an organization that offers prenatal care—even stranger for one that says it values choice.
