Furthermore, Christ makes the ALTAR<\/strong> <\/em><\/span>the place where we undergo JUDGMENT<\/strong> <\/em><\/span>for sins against a neighbor.<\/p>\nTherefore, if you bring your gift to the altar,
\n<\/em>and there recall that your brother
\n<\/em>has anything against you,
\n<\/em>leave your gift there at the altar,
\n<\/em>go first and be reconciled with your brother,
\n<\/em>and then come and offer your gift.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\nWe are to make amends with those we have wronged before we dare to approach the altar, or else we shall face grim consequences.<\/p>\n
The Word of the Lord to the Corinthians [1 Cor. 11:27-29<\/em>] says that to receive the Eucharist unworthily is a profanation that brings deadly judgment upon us.<\/p>\nThe Lord Jesus profaned himself, giving up his body for us, and shedding his blood for us, by receiving deadly judgment in place of us, so that our sins may be forgiven.<\/p>\n
