Eeeeee! \u00a0EEEEEEEE! Eeeeee!<\/p>\n<\/iframe>\nFor folks who aren\u2019t familiar with <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Last_Five_Years\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Jason Robert Brown\u2019s\u00a0The Last 5 Years<\/em><\/a>, it\u2019s a musical that covers the five year relationship between Cathy and Jamie, from the moment they meet, through their engagement and marriage, till the morning after Jamie leaves.<\/p>\nThe two leads alternate numbers, which respectively tell the story of their relationship in opposite directions. \u00a0That means Cathy\u2019s first song (also the first song of the trailer) is the one she sings when she finds Jamie\u2019s \u201cI\u2019m leaving\u201d note, and her final song in the show takes place just after meeting Jamie. \u00a0Meanwhile, Jamie\u2019s first song occurs just before he meets Cathy, and his last takes place as he decides to leave.<\/p>\nThe only time they are singing about the same time at, well, the same time is for the number that covers the proposal.<\/p>\nI\u00a0love<\/em> this show and I heartily recommend it to you all.<\/p>\nAnd I think it will make a great topic for guestposts in the vein of our first Sondheim Symposium (Company<\/em> and\u00a0Passion<\/em>) and our reprise (Merrily We Roll Along<\/em>).<\/p>\nOh,\u00a0and<\/em>, it comes out the same weekend as\u00a0Fifty Shades of Grey<\/em>, so now you\u2019ve got the flick you\u2019ll see instead.<\/p>\n(Note, said weekend is Valentine\u2019s Day and both movies are probably pretty weird date material).<\/p>\nYou know, I\u2019m so happy that I\u2019m embedding the trailer twice in one post:<\/p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Last Five Years - Official UK Trailer (2015)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9FKjLJZdycI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\u00a0<\/p>\nP.S.
