I\u2019ll be at the Catholic Information Center in DC on Tuesday night as part of their summer Theology on Tap series<\/a>. \u00a0My topic is \u201cMaking Mistakes Well in Prayer\u201d and it\u2019s drawn from the final chapter (\u201cTrusting Christ As Peter Does\u201d) of\u00a0Arriving at Amen: Seven Catholic Prayers that Even I Can Offer<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

How do you find your way through a new and challenging prayer practice or an old one that\u2019s gone stale? Learn a few habits and strategies for beginning prayers badly in order to learn how to engage in them well in the future. As a convert, Leah took her cue from St. Peter, whose frequent struggles with Christ\u2019s commands and teachings offer a model in how to be a heartfelt follower of Christ, even when we\u2019re plagued with uncertainty.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And it\u2019s a double bill, so, if you\u2019re coming out, you\u2019ll also get to hear Catherine Szeltner (who I quite like) on \u201cHow to Be a Catholic Influencer\u201d<\/p>\n

From commercials to conversations, we all have the ability to influence others. And in a unique way, Catholics can become walking billboards for the Church. Acknowledging this opens up the door for evangelization opportunities and should call the faithful to live out authentically Christian lives.<\/p>\n

Catherine Szeltner is a Reporter\/Producer for \u201cEWTN News Nightly\u201d, an international evening news program from a Catholic perspective. As a founding news team member, she\u2019s assisted with St. John XXIII and St. John Paul II canonization coverage in Rome, and reported on topics ranging from Supreme Court hearings to pro-life issues in D.C. She graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Advertising and previously worked at The Zimmerman Agency, where she assisted coordinating digital content for national brands, such as Pilot Pen, Club Med, and Nature\u2019s Own.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
