I\u2019m a big fan of the blog A Queer Calling<\/a>, and I\u2019m lucky enough to know Lindsey and Sarah in real life. \u00a0They write thoughtfully and generously about their experience offering learning how to live their vocation of love in a partnership, and they\u2019ve placed hospitality\/offering love to others at the center of their relationship.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve tried to make a space in my life for one-to-many hospitality (seeking out apartments and buildings with large living rooms, centrally located in the city to be easy to get to). \u00a0Lindsey and Sarah have set up their lives<\/a> for one-to-one hospitality (picking a place with a spare bedroom, opening their house not just for a night but for week to someone who needs a place to stay). \u00a0It\u2019s a kind of generosity that intimidates me, and I\u2019m grateful to get to witness how they live it and know that they\u2019d support me if I tried to extend myself a little further, following their example.<\/p>\n

Right now, Lindsey and Sarah are having a rough time \u2014 Sarah has Meni\u00e8re\u2019s disease<\/a>, which affects balance and hearing. She\u2019s getting a surgery that should help, but there have been some snags and complications. \u00a0I\u2019m helping them out by contributing to the GoFundMe<\/a> that they set up to raise money to train Gemma, Sarah\u2019s service dog. \u00a0(And, as is my custom, I\u2019m matching donations I make to a \u201cnear\u201d person by donating the same amount to a \u201cfar\u201d cause through Against Malaria<\/a>, GiveWell\u2019s<\/a> top rated charity).<\/p>\n
