First things first: I\u2019m very excited to announce that I will be debating Justin of The Faith Heuristic<\/a> on the merits of evidence for the existence of God. His first salvo<\/a> is up today, and I\u2019ll be responding this weekend. Justin always has an open challenge for atheist debaters. A recent post by The Anchoress<\/a> had a number of links I really liked. The first one is this amazing, interactive graphic that represents scales of the universe<\/a>, from quantum foam to galactic superclusters.<\/div>\n

Chilling news from Israel (beyond the flotilla disaster) is detailed in this AP article<\/a>. I don\u2019t know why Israel is so frequently referred to as the \u2018only democracy in the Middle East\u2019 when a significant proportion of its people have such strong theocratic leanings. Tens of thousands of Ultra-Orthodox came out to protest an Israeli court decision requiring a religious girls\u2019 school to allow Sephardic Jews to attend class with Ashkenazim. One particularly sobering quote:<\/div>\n
