First there was the start of the fiscal year, then the beginning of school (I still haven\u2019t broken myself of the habit of marking time in semesters), then Rosh Hashanah, and now, sneaking in just before Advent, is start of the Year of Faith<\/a> (beginning on Oct 11, the 50th anniversary of the Second Vatican Council).<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve signed up for two interesting readings meant to supplement the year, so I wanted to pass on the information to the Catholic (or just very curious) readers of the blog.<\/p>\n

The first, found via Aggie Catholics<\/a>, is Flocknote\u2019s Read the Catechism in a Year project<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For this Year of Faith, Pope Benedict has encouraged you to study and reflect on the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Well, here\u2019s an easy way to do it. Simply enter your email address and \u2013 starting October 11, 2012 \u2013 you\u2019ll start getting a little bit of the Catechism emailed to you every morning. Read that little bit every day and you\u2019ll read the whole catechism in a year. Cool, right?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The second resource, found via the Anchoress<\/a>, is the\u00a0Magnificat Year of Faith Companion<\/em><\/a>. \u00a0If you order it now, you\u2019ll have to hurry to catch up with the daily readings. \u00a0They\u2019re up to a third printing, so if you tarried like me, you won\u2019t get a copy til the end of October. \u00a0Every day, there\u2019s a reading in one of these categories:<\/p>\n
