Back to normal posts tomorrow, hopefully. \u00a0I\u2019ve been a little snowed under \u2014 especially as I\u2019m taking a hypercompressed ASL class at Gallaudet at the moment. \u00a0So, for now, can anyone guess what fairy tale I\u2019m (trying) to recount in this video from my homework?<\/p>\n<\/iframe>\n\u00a0<\/p>\nI needed to tell\u00a0some<\/em> story with not-too many characters that would give me the opportunity to contrast the different temperaments of the people in the story. \u00a0For some reason (my fever, maybe?) my first plan was to tell the story of Oedipus, inspired mostly by the fact that we\u2019ve been covering \u2018family\u2019 vocabulary and possessives, so saying \u201cOedipus\u2019s father \u2014 his wife, Oedipus marry.\u201d \u00a0Plus, I knew how to contrast the temperaments of Oedipus and his father when they met and refused to give ground, since I know the signs for \u201cstubborn\u201d and \u201cangry.\u201d<\/p>\nI realized this was ultimately a bad idea before I got up to the bit about \u201cOedipus \u2014 his mother, now his wife, she stabs her eyes.\u201d \u00a0But that part definitely would have been good practice with possessives!<\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\nNote, this is from Day 3 of ASL 2, so my signing isn\u2019t\u00a0particularly\u00a0good or representative of what fluent ASL looks
