Sometimes it looks like plunging toilets and cleaning windows and making groceries and more groceries and changing diapers and changing modes of transportation, being scared, being rage-full, wrestling with bills and cash flow and with each other, us actual human beings who simply cannot show up every day as our best, most likeable and loving selves,<\/p>\n

I want to confess all that to be clear that this is not a na\u00efve rejoicing, but a hard-won gratitude, a sustaining joy that reminds me and maybe you, that this is amazing, what we are co-creating and sustaining.<\/p>\n

One of my favorite Mardi Gras throws this year was a sticker from the Krewe of Chewbaccus<\/a> that says \u201ca woman\u2019s place is in the resistance.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Unitarian Universalism tells all of us our place is in the resistance \u2013 to resist anything that tries to destroy the interdependent web of existence, to resist anything that denies the inherent worth and dignity of every person, to resist injustice and inequity and lack of compassion in human relations, to resist limits on our free and responsible search for truth, to resist.<\/p>\n
