Last night my husband & I had the opportunity to have a beautiful couple to our home for dinner. We didn\u2019t really know or even speak with this couple until last night. So how did they end up at our table with us?<\/p>\n
I know them via my sister and she has shared their story with me so I was familiar with them, but didn\u2019t quite know them. We have also seen them around at many different Church functions within the Archdiocese of Anchorage. We kept bumping into them.<\/p>\n
The woman has been fighting a battle over an unjust situation at work, which I only knew about because my sister had told me about it. My husband & I had been praying for a long time for this couple and their situation since we have the battle scars from our own work place fight.<\/p>\n
Well, the woman kept crossing my mind. I kept feeling the need to contact her, to give her a phone call or send her an email, but I kept forgetting to do so. Finally one day I was driving and she crossed my mind again and it finally hit me: this need to talk with her is from the Holy Spirit (for Samuel it was 3 times being called, this woman had been on my mind for at least a month!). The next day, I hunted for her email address and shot her an email and told her that she had been on our hearts for awhile that we had been praying for her and that we wanted them over for dinner. I encouraged her in her battle and told her how we knew how isolating it was to do what she was doing but to continue fighting the good fight.<\/p>\n
Little did I know, on her end, the night before my email, she had prayed to God and told Him how discouraged she was, how she was so uncertain she was doing what was right. She told Him she need a Sign from Him. A specific sign. She wanted the Sign in an email with specific words so that she knew she could go forward. The very next day she received an email from me\u2013a person she didn\u2019t know \u2013with the words she had requested.<\/p>\n
In Spanish the word for \u201ccoincidence\u201d is \u201ccoincidencia.\u201d The word for God is dios. So when a circumstance happens that God made happen we call it a \u201cdiocidencia.\u201d All things work for the good of those who Love the Lord, as the Scripture says.<\/p>\n
Last night, this beautiful couple shared their beautiful faith with us, inspired us, strengthened us. We shared our faith stories with each other and could only marvel at how Good the Lord is. And, to make it even better for us, they are Charismatics as well! My husband and I have lately felt so isolated and lonely within our Catholic Community. Most practicing Catholics look upon Charismatics with deep suspicion and open hostility so speaking with them was so encouraging for us.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
