As I mentioned previously, I take patriotism to be a virtue<\/strong><\/a> that is opposed to any sort of idolatrous nationalism that exalts one\u2019s nation above all others. I think a robust<\/span> patriotism<\/span> appreciates national patrimony but also includes maintaining a critical perspective of national history. I also think that U.S. holidays designated to celebrate, among other things, wars can be properly or improperly<\/span> commemorated<\/strong><\/a> depending on how sober one\u2019s look at history is.<\/p>\n

That said, I re-present a video I made to celebrate the National Day of Prayer in the U.S., which was viewed by faculty, staff and students of the school at which I work.
