Ken Hakuta is an inventor and the host of \u201cThe Dr. Fad Show,\u201d a children\u2019s show devoted to conversations about inventions.\u00a0 That\u2019s the extent of what I know about Mr. Hakuta, but he makes an important observation:<\/p>\n
\u201cLack of money is no obstacle.\u00a0 Lack of an idea is an obstacle.\u201d<\/p>\n
Depending on your life\u2019s circumstances, Mr. Hakuta\u2019s observation could be heard in more than one way:<\/p>\n
You might hear him telling you:<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cYou talk a lot about money being an obstacle.\u00a0 That\u2019s not an obstacle.\u00a0 The real obstacle is the absence of ideas.\u00a0 You already have an idea, so now what are you going to do?\u201d<\/p>\n Heard from that perspective, Mr. Hakuta\u2019s observation is invitation to find a strategy for implementing your idea.<\/p>\n Listening from another place in life, you might hear him saying:<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cYou talk about money being an obstacle, but that\u2019s no obstacle.\u00a0 You would only be facing a real obstacle if you didn\u2019t have an idea.\u00a0 So, don\u2019t let limited resources hold you back.\u00a0 You have an idea, devote what you have to the effort.\u201d<\/p>\n Heard from this perspective, Mr. Hakuta\u2019s words are a call to arms, the resolve to act.<\/p>\n Listening from still another perspective, what you might hear is this:<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cYou talk about money being an obstacle, that\u2019s no obstacle.
