Still needing a few things for the basket, so I drop into the local bookstore and browse through the cute rabbit displays, making my way to the section containing the \u201ctrue meaning of Easter\u201d selection. Wait. These books seem vaguely familiar to the clever bunny tales I was just reading in the secular section. Oh I see now, the big fluffy rabbit has been replaced by Jesus, hence the \u201creligious\u201d title.<\/p>\n

It seems few children\u2019s books plunge headfirst into the actual significance of Good Friday and Easter, at least with much depth. (Or charm!) Thankfully, some truly solid theologians grasp the complex ways of God and yet, still know how to draw a child into the wonder of the gospel. This week, we highlight a few great books which deal with the heartbeat of this season, Jesus\u2019s death and resurrection.<\/p>\n

This book uses allegory to illustrate the Christian\u2019s understanding that Christ took God\u2019s wrath in their place. Through compelling graphics, Sproul creates a fairy tale involving a King\u2019s son drinking the people\u2019s poisoned water, which kills him, but ultimately saves them.<\/p>\n
